Sometimes there’s just not much else to say except a well deployed curse word. This card combines elegantly composed metal type with raw emotion in rough-printed wood typographical characters. The cartoonist Mort Walker is said to have coined the term “Grawlix” for the use of these characters as an expressive stand-in for words prohibited by the comics code of the time. Use this grawlix to express sympathy for someone going through a hard time. Letterpress printed in grey and blue ink on 118# heavyweight cream cotton card stock. A2 sized (5.5″ x 4.25″) folded card with blank interior and matching envelope. Printed by hand in Madison, Wisconsin using hand-composed metal and wood type.
