In the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, broken pottery is repaired using lacquer mixed with precious metals—often gold, silver, or platinum. It treats the repair as part of the history of the piece, rather than as something to hide, and highlights the break and its repair as part of the object’s beauty. What if we treated broken and wounded hearts in the same way?
