Description
It is perhaps not well-known outside of Madison, Wisconsin, that our official city bird  (enacted by the city council in 2009) is the Plastic Lawn Flamingo, in homage to a locally famous prank played by the Pail and Shovel Party at UW-Madison in 1979. It’s the reason our local soccer team, Forward Madison, has a Flamingo for their logo. This card is my tribute to this icon of American goofiness, printed entirely with hand-set type, including a pair of wood corner ornaments, some brass rule, and a handful of metal type in basic geometric shapes, and a fair amount of fussing to getting everything lined up just so.
Printed on 100% recycled speckletone cover stock in either light blue or white. White card comes with a blue envelope; blue card comes with a pink envelope.
